Cancellation Policy: Stratford Place NYC

This policy explains what happens if you cancel a booking before move-in or end your lease before its agreed end date. It summarizes the cancellation terms in our standard lease agreement. If anything here differs from your signed lease, the signed lease governs.

Early lease cancellation

If you choose to cancel your lease early, the following payments become due immediately upon submitting a cancellation request:

• Any outstanding rent payments (past-due amounts).
• The rent for the next billing cycle.
• A penalty equivalent to one month's rent.

You may choose to apply your security deposit toward the cancellation amounts. If it is not applied, our standard deposit refund policy and schedule will apply. See the Security Deposit Policy for details.

Note: in the event of a cancellation, the lease terminates at the end of the next billing cycle.

Cancelling before move-in

A booking is not confirmed until the security deposit is paid. If you fail to take possession of the room after booking, or vacate before the term ends, the security deposit may be retained and converted into in-house credit applicable to future bookings, subject to our duty to mitigate any losses. You may also remain responsible for rent and the other terms of your agreement in accordance with this policy.

If a booking lapses because the security deposit payment was not completed on time, you are not held liable for the cancellation of that reservation, but a new service fee applies to any new reservation.

Service fee

The service fee covers third-party online services, including applications, screening, lease generation, and related transactions. This fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of the timing of your cancellation request or any deposit or rent refunds.

Ending your stay at the end of the term

No cancellation charges apply when you stay through your full term. Please give us a minimum 30-day notice of your intent to extend or end your accommodation, and follow the move-out obligations in your lease (returning keys, leaving the room clean and ready for the next resident).

How to submit a cancellation request

Email us at info@stratfordresidences.com from the email address on your booking, and include your booking reference. We will confirm receipt and the amounts that apply to your cancellation.
