About the Residence

A classic West 70th Street building, quietly modernized.

Stratford Residences occupies an early-twentieth-century building on a leafy block of Lincoln Square, between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. Limestone detailing, tall bay windows, original cornice lines, the architectural character is unmistakably pre-Depression New York, the sort of block where the city feels residential and unhurried.

Inside, we have kept what works and quietly updated the rest. Rooms are furnished with considered, hard-wearing pieces; common spaces are designed for small gatherings and focused work; the roof is open to residents. One block from Central Park, a five-minute walk to Lincoln Center, and a short walk to the 1/2/3 at 72nd Street. A neighborhood that has anchored New York for a century, fitted to the way people live and work today.

Built for interns

Summer, fall, spring, housing that flexes with your program.

We built Stratford Residences around the way interns actually move to New York: three-month terms, simple applications, no guarantor, and a community of peers already in the building. If your program runs at a bank, studio, conservatory, lab, or newsroom, your housing should just work.
