About Urbana

Urbana is proud to be the home of the University of Illinois. Getting to and from Urbana is easy since it is served by three major interstates, a new state of the art airport terminal, bus and rail service. Getting around Urbana is also very easy with the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District having received numerous national awards for its transportation services.

From the time the first cabin was built in the early 1800's, to the middle 1850's when Abraham Lincoln practiced law and made speeches at the Courthouse, to 1933 when Urbana issued its own money to keep the local economy functioning during the depression, people agree that Urbana is a special place to live and work.
